What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it — written from what the software actually does.

BlueDog Qualifier is an estimating tool for audio-visual integrators, developed and operated by Daruma Tech, LLC. This policy covers the Qualifier mobile app and the Qualifier web app, and Daruma Tech, LLC is the company accountable for the information described in it.
The AV product data Qualifier draws on is provided by BlueDog Group, LLC (“BlueDog Group”), a separate Florida company. That data flows to us — it is reference information about products, not information about you. BlueDog Group does not receive your account, your estimates, or your customers’ details, which is why they are not listed among the service providers below.
Qualifier is a business tool. Most of the people using it are working on behalf of an integration company — their employer — and that company controls the estimates, client records, and settings created in its account. We process that information on the company’s behalf.
Your account. Your name, your company name, and your email address, which you give us when you sign up. We store a one-way hash of your password, never the password itself.
The work you do in the app. Estimates, rooms, scope notes, product selections, pricing, and the settings your company configures.
Records about your customers. When you add a client, we store what you enter about them — name, email address, phone number, and the property address for the job. This is information about someone who is not our user, so you are responsible for having a proper basis to enter it, and we only ever use it to provide the service to you.
Floor plans and photos. If you photograph or upload a floor plan, we receive that image or PDF and process it to identify rooms. See Who else sees your information below.
Dictation. When you dictate a walkthrough, speech is converted to text by your device, on the device. The audio is not sent to us and we never receive a recording. The resulting text is saved as part of your estimate.
Diagnostics you send us. When you use the in-app feedback button, we receive your message together with a screenshot of the screen you were on, the app version, your device model and name, your operating system version, and your user and organization identifiers. A screenshot taken on an estimate screen may include your customer’s details, so please bear that in mind when you send one.
We do not collect your location. We do not read your device’s contacts or calendar. We do not receive your payment card details — those go directly to our payment processor. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
To run the service: to sign you in, to keep your work in sync across your devices and your team, to produce and send proposals, to process the design retainers your clients pay, to support you when something breaks, to keep the service secure, and to bill for subscriptions.
We use a small number of service providers, who may only process information to provide their service to us:
We will also disclose information where the law requires it, and to protect our rights or someone’s safety. If our business is ever sold or merged, your information may transfer with it, subject to this policy.
We keep your account and your company’s work for as long as the account is open. When an account is deleted, we remove it as described below. We may keep records we are legally required to keep — billing and tax records in particular — for as long as the law requires.
You can delete your account yourself, at any time — from the Settings tab in the app, or from your Account page on the web. There is no need to contact us.
You can see and correct your account details in the app at any time. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to a copy of your information, to ask us to correct or delete it, or to object to how we use it. Write to us at the address below and we will help. If the information belongs to your employer’s account, we may need to refer your request to them.
You can turn off the app’s access to your camera, photos, and microphone in your device settings. Those permissions are only used for the features they name — capturing a floor plan and dictating a walkthrough — and the rest of the app works without them.
Everything the app sends travels over an encrypted connection. Sign-in tokens are kept in your device’s secure storage — the Keychain on iOS, the Keystore on Android. Passwords are stored only as hashes. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and keep it under review.
Qualifier is a tool for professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and for anything significant we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
